You are the first person who has associated the color with the Civil War versus something more feminine. And I love that you got that the female was stepping down to run away and into something non-traditional to do with the Civil War. Excellent! I won't forget to enter you into my drawing, but I'd love it if you could cut & paste your comment onto my blog at: http://lisapotocar.tateauthor.com/blog/. I will do the same for my reply to you here.

LisaLisa Potocarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10406604885947630274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6507548911400837437.post-23819683592513673362012-12-12T19:32:14.706-07:002012-12-12T19:32:14.706-07:00A great cover deserves a lot of thought. What audience is it trying to reach?

Readers of historical romance. The purple is a dead giveaway from a mile off : )

2. What immediate thoughts do you have about what the story will involve?

I'd venture to say a young lady is running away from something as she's going down steps rather than up against the backdrop of the Civil War.

3. Does the cover make you want to explore the story further, such as reading the blurb or the opening lines—why or why not?" ~Lisa

At the very least I'd read the first chapter and hope the emotions of the Civil War era captured my attention to not let go until The End.

Leslie, I absolutely love the ongoing discussion of cover art!!Audra Hardershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17654717451512952428noreply@blogger.com
